July 19

We started the day on Friday with a big storm. It rained on and off all day, and they say there is more rain on its way Sunday. This is a view taken towards the basketball courts across from the school building.

The "Worldview" workshops were finished today. Many positive comments that this is the kind of training they need! They were challenged to transform their minds to think Christianly in all areas of life. Here is a picture of Alfredo Acosta, Bible teacher at Cornerstone, Yadira Vallejos, English and Social Studies teacher, talking with Carla.

After classes were over, the teachers spent about 45 minutes collecting these little yellow fruits that fall on the ground from several trees on the school property. (I'll try to find out the name.) You would think they were gold. They eat them like candy, but they also boil them in sugar water, and some even make them into wine. Wilbert Vallejos and Dale on their knees.

Friday night we were invited to Nehru and Norma's home for dinner. Carla, Jean, Marc and Sam Summers were also invited. Nehru is a Nazarene who lives around the corner from us, and a true brother in Christ. It was a great time of fellowship between Nazarenes and Presbyterians! We started out the evening singing choruses, and after a while his pastor and wife showed up and were asked to stay.

We then we enjoyed a wonderful meal of "chef salads" and key lime pie made by Sam Summers. The salads were the nicest salads I have ever eaten in Belize. Norma did an amazing job in preparing them for us gringos.
